Likely to put people off?

where

I don’t have a face picture on the public profile for work related issues, I work in education so have to be squeaky clean so to to speak.

I usually ask to see a face pic and will often return one, but wonder if this puts people off. I need to be as sure as possible that I’m not chatting to a parent or colleague or even a close friend. Wondered what people’s thoughts were on this ?

It will

One factor of this site (and others like it) is that people will expect to you to compromise your privacy whilst retaining their own

Sadly, it is a Catch 22, especially so for single blokes

If you ask to see my face pic without attaching your own, yes that would put me off. Not having it on your profile is fine, most people don't.

Only if your penis is attached to your face then you may have a condition but if its not your face will be ok

There and to the left a bit

As NSAchick says not having one publically visible is not a problem if you're willing to share via messages fairly early on in an exchange - the majority of users don't display one publically.

I would say however that to anyone that knows you your current public pic may identify you to anyone that knows you anyway.

No privacy is important. It will some people off yes but that is there prerogative.

Our rule of thumb is if we ask for a face pic we send first and vice versa. If somebody asks us for face pics and does send theirs with their request we ignore.

I don't expect one with a first message but I am more inclined to reply to those who do. If someone asks for mine I do expect them to send theirs first.

It's not unusual for guys to not show their face, and to be honest the photo you have up, is showing enough of your face to get a good idea of what you look like.

The profile can be as important as the photos

yes lots of women especially want to see your face immediately at start of chatting you send they see it they delete you, many women already have their face on show and some won't show at all, it's a mixture of reactions really just put what you've said here on your profile then the onus is on them but yes it may harm your chances, who knows but you've got no choice really

Who cares if it puts them off. Your job/ career or a quick shag with a stranger off the internet. I know which I choose.

I don’t have one showing in public. And I didn’t used to like sending them privately for similar reasons to you.

And one day the dreaded thing happened - I sent a face picture to a friend.

But guess what? He didn’t care. And ever since then I’ve realised it doesn’t matter.

We’re all adults and we’re all on this site. So who is anyone to judge

I agree, If I knew you I’d recognise you but I gather from what you’re saying it’s not friends you’re bothered about. Those parents you come into contact with via work may think it’s you but be a bit unsure. You don’t have to have the whole of you in your pic.

It would never put me off as long as you have something in your window other than just your cock. And as long as you’re prepared to share once we start talking. I totally get where you’re coming from. I’m not in education but feel very much the same about our own jobs, part of the reason I don’t meet local people.

Forever airbrushing jewellery on show that I’ve forgotten about.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

It's a tough one Op, particularly for us men. Due to the mass amount of messages that women and couples receive, the ones that have a face pic are far more likely to be noticed and replied to.

As us single men very rarely receive unsolicited messages from out of the blue (definitely my case), the burden is on us to take the initiative if we wish to have any measure of success here.

There can sometimes be a standoff about who shows face first. It's a leap of faith in a way.

Up to the individual. I would never put my face on here. I don’t even do FPF etc. I tend to look at messages more if a face pic is attached. I don’t think you need one on your profile, just send one with a message.

I always send a face photo with my first message. Without fail.

Half the time, after a few messages, people will ask for a face photo. Pay attention at the back.

your imagination

There's quite a simple solution to this OP. Don't meet or chat with people in the area where you work/live. It's worked pretty well for me. I've never shared a face pic with someone who has gone... Hey, I know you!! Once you establish where someone is from and it's a 'safe' distance, you should feel more comfortable exchanging face pics

Send messages to people 400 miles away from you, like that you can be sure it won't be someone you know

If someone asks with first message, respect their wishes or leave them be. If not, talk to them if you get that far.

It doesn't bother me to be honest. If I want a face picture I'll ask for one privately. I don't have mine on show so I don't expect anyone else to display theirs.

Remember to send each one in 17 separate messages to really get her attention. Women LOVE that on here.

I think the etiquette is to send a pic first, if you are requesting one. To be fair, I would have thought that your profile pic would make you recognisable to those who knew you in person anyway....
