Genuinely need advice please.

I'm renting a room in a house at the moment. I'm separated now and it's a temporary thing. My landlady is a bit older than me and last night something happened between us. We had a few drinks and it heated up. I'm not going into details, but I assume you know why I need advice? She is a lovely woman and my dilemma is what to do? I dont want to jeopardise a friendship and potentially have to live elsewhere if I get this wrong? What to do?

What do you want from this? If it's to return to how you were previously, you can't this will always be there. What you can do is let her know how you feel and explain that you'd like to move on as friends while realising that there will be awkwardness for a while. Then never, ever have drinks with your landlady again

Make sure you point out that in your opinion it wasn't a mistake but on reflection you feel that it's best if you return to your previous relationship.

Move your relationship with your landlady back into a friendly commercial one, without letting it develop differently again.

Direct your interests elsewhere, taking up exercise or anything that will sap your energy and attention. Your life needs to regain some stability - and it must be you who takes the decisions to make it that way.

Depending on what happened last night, you may or may not need to be prepared to explain yourself to her. Be supportive, apologetic, whatever, as long as she can appreciate that you now have boundaries that you won't cross. It may be that little needs to be said - you can determine this.

Reorganise your life and direction, so that you don't develop a relationship with her, whilst living there. No casual sex, no anything. Get your life's needs elsewhere

Thanks for all of your advice. I know the right think to do is not have sex with her again. That said, she is out with a friend tonight and has just asked if I'd like another dance when she gets home. My sensible side is saying no, but my not so sensible side disagrees! So despite your good advice I've said that she can dance into my room later on! I know I'm an idiot. But it's harder to find a sexy woman like her than a room to rent! And if I'm really lucky, I can have both!
