Have you noticed, as fuel prices increase, that it's now much more difficult to put exactly £20 in your tank?

I’m more of a kit man myself, built one including fabricating the chassis etc from scratch, but have a soft spot for American trucks and V8’s

"Almost as if petroleum is a finite resource..."

Depends who you speak to. Some in the industry admit that the world is awash with oil.

That might be true but it's the accessibility of the crude oil. And we are still using it in ever increasing amounts that far outstrips the rate in which it's made.

True, the conditions necessary in order for it to be made no longer exist on the planet, as far as i'm aware.

"Motorbikes are cheap to run "

Scooters maybe but not bikes, just to sit on one costs over £1000 for some decent kit. No cheaper than a car but a thousand times more fun!

Or fresh fields discovered. A read recently that you can only feed and sustain the current population with the use of oil for the machinery required. So, as much as I love the infernal combustion engine and driving my cars, there’s a bigger need.

Most of the oil used in agriculture is used to make fertilisers. There are fresh oil fields being discovered, but it's getting to it that's the issue.

This whole thing with Iran and ships being attacked in on one of the major fuel route doesn't help.
