Doesn't everyone try for a PB every time?

Nah eventually you can't try every week. You need to up training and try things different, give it a few weeks to work then give it 100% to see if made a difference

It was hot out there today.

I went to Erddig, instead of the usual Wepre Park. Much flatter course, and I'm glad I did after a lot of training this week

The bacon butty undid all the hard work though

I've done them before. Their a bit of fun and it's nice to see so many people coming together. But on the whole not much use to be because family life and work get in the way. Maybe when the kids are older I could try and persuade them to come alone with me.

We're in an area where we are spoilt for choice with park runs, the easiest PB course near us is in the Rother Valley. Fast & flat.

Yep im off to parkrun. A pb depends on where i can get myself at the start as we run around the woods and at points its single track, so you can get stuck!

I was marshalling this morning as I have a race this afternoon. Also needing to schedule more volunteering than running at the moment as trying to coincide. One and my partner's 100 runs on the same day and I'm about 10 ahead at the moment!

Managed my fastest time for 3 1/2 years last week though!

I'm not. Last long run before Amsterdam marathon today and volunteering at a local 10km Sunday so tomorrow is a rare lie in!

Thanks! I think it has, I ran blenheim half last weekend on very tired legs and a bugger of a course and managed my fastest half for 3 years so I'm taking that as a good sign!

Well done

What was the weather like? The 10km I was at this morning the forecast was horrendous but it was actually lovely

I’d rather be setting a realistic goal..Not achieving a PB is so disappointing

It actually wasn't as bad as forecast thank goodness, just a few showers, a bit windy in places and even some sunshine

I confess, I did one yesterday. Boy do I hurt today! But it's a good hurt!! The marshals were amazing though. I was encouraged and cheered on the whole way. One even came to find me and give me a hug as he was proud of my tenacity. Can't believe I once did the London Marathon and ran 10k's for fun!!
