Long term online friends

So I have been speaking to someone on fab over the last 18 months. I would consider him a close friend. we have cammed and speak for hours most nights.

He wants us to finally meet after asking me for ages, but I have been nervous because like with most friendships either online or not, sex spoils it.

The thing I find daunting as well as the friendship thing is the fact he is a beautiful young man lol. Like one of those gym, love island guys and I am just a mum who forgot where the gym is and I like pizza too much lol. But I am confident on meets (Can be chicken before but am ok while meeting) and I'm not gonna let it put me off from meeting him feeling lucky actually!

Just wanted to be real and know what to expect and hear people's success and not so successful stories about if this has happened to you and how it went. How's your friendship now?

Thanks

If you already have a great friendship meeting up won't spoil it. Having sex could I guess but surely you would only felt right and comfortable so shouldn't be an issue

Or look at it another way, meeting up could enhance what you already have.

If you’re friends then surely there wouldn’t be any expectation of sex? Just meet up, see how it goes and take things from there. No pressure. Just enjoy.

And your figure is gorgeous.

I think if you're meeting up to socialise and bring your online friendship to real life then it will be absolutely fine and wonderful. I do think if you add sex into the mix, it could change things a little. But it doesn't mean bad change, it could enhance and make your friendship even better.

Good luck. I've seen your photos and I think you're gorgeous! He's lucky you'll be even better in the flesh ^ . ^

Manchester (she/her)

Friends in this kind of environment can just have sex as another component to the relationship, I think.

Don't be nervous, go for it!

If you've cammed he knows what you look like. Don't worry.

One man I met online- utter disaster. Still causing me issues now years later. Lesson learned, trust my gut.

Another man I met online- a fabulous friend who can ground me in just a few words. Bussy is awesome.

Chances are high he'll be nervous too. Sounds like you're both caring and thoughtful people. I hope you both have fun....

I think if he cares about your friendship as much as you do, it will be fine. Relax and enjoy whatever happens. Keep talking openly with each other and you’ll continue to have a fabulous friendship with benefits or not.

Hiding in the shadows

You've been talking for a year, he knows exactly what you look like.

He obviously likes you, for being you.

Go for it!

From my own experience.

I chatted with someone for a year before our diaries aligned & we arranged to meet.

I was attracted to him mentally, intellectually, I knew I found him physically attractive.

But I had no idea how I & of course he, would really feel until we actually met.

Was I nervous before? Think terrified was a better word!

I nearhy backed out, I got myself so wound up. Even on the train there, I was thinking "What if he hates he" "oh, just get on the next train back"

I didn't.

And I'm bloody glad I didn't.

I had an amazing evening, and 15mths later, he's still one of my best friends.

If you don't try OP, you'll always be left wondering

Go on.... Do it xxx

The right place

Go for it OP. I seriously doubt it’ll damage the friendship. Eighteen months is a long time, if he didn’t really like you it would have fizzled out by now.
