If you decide on the lakes have a look at Lowthwaite B&B on trip advisor. I can't recommend it highly enough. Absolutely amazing place.

Very welcome! Obviously, it depends on what you're after. It's very peaceful there or Keswick town for the pubs would be another option. Steer clear of windermere IMO, far too busy. I much prefer the northern end of the lakes.

Traffic land

I’m flying to Dubai next Wednesday for 5 days in the sun with my best friend.

Then so coming home isn’t too depressing, I’ll be spending the day after I get back in bed with one of my Fab friends
