Recession and the Internet

So many good businesses have disappeared its so sad. For example: I'm furniture shopping and really struggling to find something unusual, tastefully, isn't shabby chic, handmade if possible.

Google furniture makers, there are some real craftsmen locked away in little sheds and units who will turn out bespoke whatever you want pieces.

It has less to do with recession than it does the 'throw away' culture we seem to have adopted

People shop for what is 'on trend' as opposed to what might have timeless appeal and build quality

If people don't have much disposable income they will buy cheap items which by their nature will be poorly made and therefore disposable.

We tend to go for second hand as we can't afford bespoke. However bespoke is the way forward if you want well made, durable furniture
