Me too, we need more of them. Women are far stronger than men and won’t spend the majority of their working day whistling and shouting at poor random women who walk by

They’d spend most of their time complaining about their chipped nails

No they wouldn’t, if you work in that sort of industry you accept your nails are going to be shite. I work with kids and I’m not allowed to have my nails done, so I just never have (unless for a special occasion). When I worked with babies I kept my nails short, they looked awful but it was easier. Never complained. Still hate having long nails now

Strange, I thought it was just a stereotype about builders shouting and whistling. I’ve worked on sites for 20 odd years and can honestly say I’ve never witnessed it. Why definitely need more women in construction, engineering, oil and gas etc - trades in this country are dying out and we need fresh blood.

I wouldn’t let a woman drive a digger or crane. They can’t even park a Ford Ka in a 4.8 x 2.4 meter parking space

It's definitely not a stereotype and every woman I know would tell you the same thing. I think builders are some of the worst when it comes to harassing women and young girls.

Must be a total lack of tradespeople with a grain of dignity in your area then. I’ve worked around the UK, Australia and now Sweden, never witnessed it or even heard a complaint. In fact in Sweden, the company I work for has women making up 30% of it their tradespeople on sites. No reason why it shouldn’t be like that here.

I witness a guy being harrased in the workplace by women , women speak up more, men don't and it's done more often than people realise. I don't see nen whistling at building sites now so much as they did twenty years ago, it's more rare now however I used to give back sarcastic comments and iften engaged in banter it's all how you deal with the behaviour

Whilst I don't physically build I spend a lot of time on site project managing and dealing with day to day issues.

Get along with my guys really well and we all work really well together. Dread the day one of them might stumble upon our profile mind!

I would like to see more people working on building sites, especially road building sites

Don't really care which gender works where, so long as they are happy in the job.
