It depends on what form of satanism. You get the bat shit crazy satanists that believe in an actual devil, but to most satanists it's more about the self than anything else. To me though it's just a fun name for saying secular humanitarian.

Going to make a second attempt at getting a photo of the sunrise over London from Alexandra Palace and then again at sun set to make one big panoramic photo. Messed it up last year coz I over slept. This year I almost forgot it was this week.

Gosport

I had been expecting a number of wild camps to be going on with some of the non swinging camping groups I'm involved with but the only one which seems to be occuring is in Essex which is a bit further than I wanted to travel. I may well end up doing a solo woodland camp at this rate.

From an existentialistic perspective, the summer and winter solstice makes me reflect on our place in this universe. Man we only know his true meaning of life, when he realises that his life is meaningless in an ever expanding universe.

Never mind though, it will soon be Christmas..

"Dunno what it is"

Not being a local, I had to look it up. I was surprised. From this thread and various news stories, I got the impression that the Stonehenge solstice celebration thing had been going on for thousands of years, but I read that it's only been around for about a hundred years. Is it a revival thing, or are there old texts that describe its practices before 100 years ago?

When we get to the longest day ....... you know when it's light till late and then the dark starts earlier by a few minutes each night till you find yourself in the fucking freezing dark asking what happened to the summer............

The original celebrations are not known. Except the stones align with the rising sun on the longest day. Druids of today are pure Victorian invention.
