Walking down the only road I've ever known!

I do like watching the old films, they seem so innocent and original compared too today's cgi remakes.

Absolutely. It’s great when you come across one. Sunday afternoon snuggled on the sofa. I like the old Margaret Rutherford one’s in particular and ones like The Angel Who Porned Her Harp

There's a channel now dedicated to vintage films now and you'll find some old classics on there.

Talking pictures it's called.

There was a Will Hay movie on the other day. Forgotten how good they are, it may have made me late for work.....

Metropolis is mesmerising given the year it was made. Citizen kane is an amazing classic and who can deny its a wonderful life at a certain time of year? (do not mention that word yet)

Under the Duvet

Watched one called The Devil's Daughter yesterday, very good psychological thriller.

Went the Day Well is a classic.

Any of the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films.

Rillington Place gives me the Heebie Jeebies even now.

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane is brill.

Anything with Bette Davis works for me

your imagination

Blithe Spirit has been one of my favourites since I was a child.

I miss big Sunday matinées on the telly... I remember as kids if it was too wet out we'd all watch whatever MGM epic was playing on our one TV channel after Sunday Lunch. It was family time, there was no choice in what to watch, so there were no arguments and we all happily sat enthralled by Alan Ladd herding mustangs, Elizabeth Taylor ruling Egypt, Humprey Bogart telling Sam to play it again, or David Niven generally being a sophisticated, debonair rogue.... Good Times!

The original King Kong is far superior to any of the remakes, it still stands up today.

Not seen Metropolis for years.

Did he actually say play it again Sam? Thought it was something along the line of play it. Rather than play it again. Maybe one of those movie myths

You're probably right.... Just another oft-misquoted line from an old movie... There's probably enough of those to fill a thread!

I love the Ealing comedies, some of the humour is surprisingly dark.

I could watch Alasdair Sim in anything, he’s absolutely mesmerising

Now you are talking... but some of the old Horror movies in B & W where pretty special The Cat People and Frankenstein are just two of many stand outs...

Ingrid Bergman said "play it again Sam" in Rick's bar to Dooly Wilson whilst sat at a table

After the bar closed Bogart simply said "play it Sam"

Probably one of the best movies, ever...

On a mooch

I love B&W movies and got my lad into them - his favourite is A Night to Remember - the original Titanic and still asks so many questions no matter how many times we’ve watched it

My favourite movie of all time is 12 Angry Men and also love It’s a Wonderful Life and the original Cape Fear. I don’t think I’ve found a B&W movie I don’t like

They just did it so right, whether it’s the comedy, or dealing with a tough subject, through to the pure suspense and music in a thriller that left a lot to your imagination unlike today’s offerings.

12 Angry Men and Spurs, that's 2 coincidences so far. Sent a little message.
