Polite Exchange

Leeds

So this morning we received a message from a single guy asking if we'd like polite, clean fun, VWE.

As we're here for female fun I replied as such, thanked him for his message, said I appreciated it can be difficult on Fab for single guys & wished him good luck.

He messaged again to thank me for the lovely message I'd sent.

If you're reading this, you know who you are!

I realise some people receive a crazy amount of messages & can't reply to all (& indeed receive ones that don't even deserve a reply) but I have to say that brief exchange this morning made me realise how just the simple kindness of being polite can go a long way & even though we'd turned him down, I know the fact that I bothered to reply at all will have made a bit of a difference. And that was helped by him being polite in the first place.

So you maybe wondering why am I banging on about this. Well...because I can & because it highlighted that there are indeed plenty of decent people on here.

Let's not allow the fakers & timewasters to ruin the fun for us genuine ones. Who's with me?!

(And please don't leave me hanging - it's so not a good look haha)!

Yes I agree, there are some lovely people, it's just finding them that can be a challenge sometimes.

That's an encouraging post OP.

I have to say I've met some gorgeous people at events and in the Clubs.

There and to the left a bit

It is lovely when things like that happen and we all too often tend to hear about the bad experiences of the site as opposed to the good ones and that can lead to perceptions being skewed, but there are lots of lovely people here, who do get it, who do accept a polite "no thanks" with good grace, have the right attitude, approach and expectations etc.

We should celebrate the positives more often

We try to respond to nice messages too. Especially if we can see times been taken over them.

We are all here looking for our ideal match for fun if it doesn't work there's no need for rudeness if you have been approached politely

I really enjoy getting a polite response even if it’s in the negative.

It gets very demoralising if messages are deleted and or I’m blocked without a reply. I would understand if the message was offensive or extreme.

Us guys that read profiles and try to appeal to the likes of the person we are contacting to hopefully start a conversation seem to be in the minority.

Thank you for saying thank you for being polite op!

Enjoy fab everyone.

Yes it can be a challenge!

We haven't attended any events or clubs yet but I guess it's like anything in life -v- online, some people behave far differently using a keyboard rather than face to face!

Glad to hear you've met some good people that way

They cost time in this example, time costs more than anything.

I often say that the only people others ruin it for is themselves, but this is actually one area where the abusive and negative guys *do* ruin it for others - one of the reasons a lot of people don't reply to messages, if they're not interested, is because they don't know if they will get abuse back - if everyone learned to accept a polite "no thanks" with good grace perhaps more people would be inclined to reply to the messages they receive.

We respond politely if the message is similar or the sender has at least put a bit of an effort in..

but if its a shadow profile, no pictures, no veris and been on here for ages and the message is a 'hi, how are you' or 'what you up to/wearing/doing today' we will usually ignore..

That’s lovely to hear OP X well done you, the gent concerned must feel Fab is an awesome place to be.

Sadly for me I received a message asking if I enjoyed farting whilst sitting on someone’s face and a request not to eat sweet corn..

I did enjoy responding in kind and also blocking..

I agree OP. That's why I always reply to first messages. Most of the time the reply is positive. Or they don't reply again, which is also fine.

To be fair we've not had many arsey replies, most guys are polite and that does register if we're honest..

Some do get a bit why not, etc but in the main most are fine which says much about them..

Totally agree. We reply to most. There are the odd few we haven’t. We’ve even ended up chatting to people on a long term basis even though they know we will never meet. There’s some lovely people out there. It’s the ones that aren’t honest, stand you up, or forgot they’ve arranged a meet! That make it hard work
