I have always thought that john saxon who played Roper in Enter the dragon would have made a great james bond back in the seventies.

If being accurate, then Cumberbatch as bond is an intelligence officer not an action hero assassin.

But for the movie franchise, it may be kit Harrington due to GoT popularity!

Now instead of the role he’s actually applying for James Bond would actually suit BoJo brilliantly! He’d play it straight but all his buffoonery and undiplomatic gaffes would create more and more international problems he’d have to try and bluster his way out of. It could be comedy gold! And of course Judi Dench’s role would have to be given to Ann Widdecombe!

The “alternative Bond” would be JC with sidekick Diane Abbott! The interesting thing about this is he would constantly be befriending the villain and countering everything MI5 told him to do! Would make for a very comic twist!
