People watching

A member of my family has started a relationship and I made my first decision based on that first few seconds. I was not that impressed, but I like to think I keep an open mind and give them the chance to change my opinion.

Someone once said I was a people watcher, weighing up everyone around me and grouping them. Do you do this, do you stand by first impressions. Do you make meets based on them.

I do it without even thinking about it, maybe it's some kind of defence mechanism or even a bullsh.t detector, who knows. It van be fun though

I can usually decide whether I like or dislike someone within minutes of meeting that person face to face.

Takes a little bit longer via written communications though.

I enjoy people watching, especially in the summer whilst sat having a coffee in a mug

It's great on holidays. Whatever we all think of the sterotypical Brits abroad we do tend to watch out for one another, socialise and mind our p's and q's.

The difference between us and fellow Europeans is amazing.

I was absolutely shocked at how many Russians, Ukranians behaved whilst in Egypt. Different mentality entirely.

Yes, i think i can tell what a person is like when i meet them, but sometimes you think someones a miserable sod, when they might be just feeling shy or not feeling well.

casual people watching is informative.

However, I really really dislike peeps who watch just to bunch people into groups and put them in boxes though.

Together with those people who are overly concerned with others' lives.

They are usually doing it to bolster their own self-esteem.

Life's too short.

I do like to people watch, I also can feel when I'm being watched.

The changing room at Chams is great for this. You get dressed but you can see other people taking sneaky glances, the men trying to get a glimpse of your tits, the women eyeing up your outfit. I'm doing this too.

There's always one woman in the changing rooms that's looking you over, from head to toe, checking your outfit out, eyes burning into you, I like to pretend I haven't notice, it usually makes me preen more though - might as well give em what they want. It happens to all of us doesn't it

Watch a group of people together and watch group dynamics start to appear. Always find it great fun

WE watch people... Although the north eastern woman with bad hair and seriously bad hair lights (that century are we in dear?), and ohh so ever a touch overweight, who shouted at us in Punch and Judy in Covent Garden a few weeks ago.. YES we were taking the piss

"i try not to make any decisions based on one contact."

To people watch it doesn't mean you make judgememts on others, whether it be on the first or after many contacts.

To watch is to just that, watch. What you do with what you have discovered is another matter.

People's awareness is constantly on alert, most of it unconscious, sizing things up, working out how new stuff fits old patterns that we know - it saves us from possibly needing more of our brain power, to have to completely learn something anew that we already know. This stands for making assessments of people, and - whilst we consciously have decision making abilities - much of the graft is done at an unconscious level.

I love people watching, I generally love people. I've been wrong in some of the snap assessments I've made, and this has made me more wary of closing doors too quickly, without really giving someone the benefit of the doubt.

I would not dream of telling them, even thou I usually end up picking up the pieces when and if it all goes wrong.

i'll watch and listen but never make a snap judgement on people from that.

i've made that mistake in the past but i've found that as much as i try there are still certain people that i can take an instant dislike to and sometimes it pays to listen to your instincts

A world of my own

To me people watching is not about making any kind of judgement, its watching people! I love to sit in a fave bar on holiday and do just that, watch the world and everyone go by.

I love to people watch, never judge them as i used to as found out appearances are deceptive.....but always fun to imagine what they are saying, what background they are from etc.but as far as you judging the relationship id say its up to them if they are happy surely thats all yhat counts....live n let live as lifes for living.
