When things go horribly wrong.

Different people at different times in life? Parents? partner?friends? children? Different people can help at different times and stages of life?

What's been your problem and who was your go to person?

It depends what it is. Most things it’s nearly always my mum or my sisters.

Depends on the problem - some friends are better than others at offering certain kinds of support

Depends on what the issue is. If it's not an issue with my partner then her. If it is a problem with her then I have a network of people I can run things past, including both parents.

This is gonna sound silly but I don't turn to anyone, if I have a problem then it's my problem no one else's, if it bothers me that much i write it down, leave it for a while and then go back to finding a solution for it...ive learnt to never depend on others as when the going gets tough they always get going, and I'm left on my own so it is what it is....xxx

From experience I'd say females have much better support networks than males amongst their contemporaries? And as we get older obviously we're more likely not to have our parents about?

The reason for the post b.t.w? Not long ago I was stricken by an illness which I was admitted to hospital for an extended period and then was stranded as I was deemed by them unable to cope living by myself. I was eventually rescued but that's another story completely!

I tend to keep things to myself.

Telling parents will just worry them.

As for mates, I don’t share unless I think they can actually help

Nobody. There are people I could turn to but I take the view that they all have their own lives and their own problems that come with those lives so wouldn't want to encumber them with mine as well.

I have no one, and feel uncomfortable when people try.

I only have one person I trust, apart from my sons and he is not around now. I wouldn't bother him with my problems even if he was.

My problems are for me to deal with.

Same here, I don’t feel the need to go to others, maybe I’ve been lucky so far. If I have a problem, I formulate a plan and take action, simple. I do have family and friends if I need them, so that’s nice! Everyone seems to come to me with their problems, perhaps I’m a good listener.

This is me too! A magnet for people with problems, and I always listen, give advice and help. I would move the earth to make someone else smile, I hate to see others upset

I have one friend who I always turn too no matter what. She's the only true friend who has been there no matter what and she knows I'm there for her too!

Also Im lucky I have an amazing mum too. But there's some things I wouldn't share with her or she'd worry

I never used to tell my Mum anything. And as she could read me like a book I used to avoid visiting her during the bad times as I didn't want to risk upsetting her or giving her cause to worry. And now she's gone. So much wasted time. And so many missed opportunties. I realise now, that Mum's worry anyway. And I denied myself the benefit of her wisdom and the chance to spend more time with her. My Mum had been there. Seen it. Done it. It worse circumstances than I could imagine. War, rationing, unemployment. A strong, resilient, wise, caring woman and I denied myself and her so many opportunities. I won't offer any advice or exhortations because every relationship is different. That's just how it is/was for me. And I regret it.

I have no one really. I have friends but never really going to them with my problems. It’s very difficult to understand how my anxiety brain works. Lost 2 friends last year as they were being incredibly selfish.. do not need that in my life.

Depends on the situation.

I have a few very good friends I can rely on and my man.

I try to figure shit out for myself though and maybe just talk to them about it rather than actually ask for help tbh.
