Do you ever look at a book you know you’ve read and think, I can’t remember the frickin’ story?

I’m sorting books and have had a couple of these moments. It’s rather depressed me.

(Although I appreciate it’s not a big problem)

I’m the opposite, I can put a book down, pick it back up years later and still remember the storyline sad eh?

Oh I have that usually. That’s why I was shocked. I do read shit loads though.

It's even worse when you forget you've read it and start reading again. It seems familiar as you get into it but you can't remember the whole story so have to read it again!

I get through about a book a week and they can all get a bit jumbled in terms of storylines

At least that way you're getting your money's worth out of it!

I've done it a few a times with different books I haven't ready since I was a teenager, but I wouldn't worry it'll happen a lot more as you get older

Im a speed reader, I've always raced through a book if it flows well ..if you get what i mean?

So when i re read a book i can always find something in it that missed before.. i can reread books loads of times

I read the sequel to the Time Machine called Time Ships not long after release. I lost the book so managed to get it again. It's like reading a new story!

I can usually recall it if I read the first couple of pages but I've forgotten more storylines than I've remembered for sure.

as for non fiction I write dates and bullet points as I read because I'd never retain the information
