Probably best stating which language the text is in. TBH I would be looking for a translator as opposed to a medic for now.

The thing is though, the drs and nurses working within the NHS cannot hire translators, translators are hired through agencies that they work for.

I work in the NHS. Although it's on the ambulances. But regularly deal with patients who's first language is not English.

The NHS use an agency to provide translators. They don't employ translators. It saves the NHS paying sickness, holidays, pensions etc. There is no requirement to have translators sat around waiting for someone to come who the can translate for.

Thefore it's cheaper to contract the service out.

That said, we have many nurses, doctors, health care workers in hospital from different nationalities already working there. Usually someone speaks the patients language and comes to help translate.

Ambulance and police use a telephone translator service.
