To me it's just disappearing when you were talking normally, like they literally and inexplicably fell off the face of the earth out of the blue.

Obvs it can happen with indirect explanation too, like they fucked you and got what they wanted and disappeared type of situation where you thought it was ok xx

I’d agree is falling of the face of the earth for what seems to be no apparent reason.

Just going completely silent on you, for no real reason. Experienced it a few times on here unfortunately however they all seem to come crawling out of the woodwork eventually (I’ve heard this is called “zombieing”).

It's all about perspective, we've covered this before in the forums. One woman's ghosting is another man's avoiding that stalking crazy lady who won't take no for an answer.....

Not experienced it outside of fab but happens to me on here loads. It is frustrating but what can you do if the other person's a bit of a numpty, just have to move on

Just like there's no reason not to give a polite reply to every message you receive on Fab right?

Obviously playing devils advocate, but where is the line drawn?

At what point in the communication cycle does it become ghosting to not respond to someone as opposed to just another ordinary day on fab?

I totally just ghosted a guy who messaged asking to eat my jizz our of Saff's vagina! Doesn't matter that our profile says we don't meet and we're exclusive......

Is ghosting more than just disappearing from a conversation...? Isn't it when you, let's say, make a plan to meet (day, time, place), and someone doesn't show and is never in touch again? Or you meet, and/or fuck, and then the person ghosts?

I think this is it, usually ppl who either aren't what or who they say they are, or ppl who are fraidy cats scared of human contact.....

I think it can be all of the above plus disappearing from a conversation? But I'm not 100%

In conventional dating then probably yes - but fab friends are much more transient by nature anyway - comparatively few people stick around very long.

What is considered ghosting in any other walk of life is just everyday fabbing ..... perhaps?

Ghosting is the sudden and unexpected end to all forms of communication with a person. Usually a way for the ghost to hint that they no longer wish to associate with the ghostee in any way, without having to say it.

Technically it requires some form of regular contact prior for it to be classed as ghosting.

Disrespectful and cowardly but people will always find excuses to try to justify their reasons for doing so.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I posted that out of irritation (stupid move), but it sounds as if ghosting can be pretty much any cessation of communication... that said, thanks Kietonel for the almost dictionary definition
