Why do people (mostly guys) say its my loss when I turn them down, how is it my loss if there was anything about you I wouldn't say no! I find this rather amusing

It’s funny - how is it possibly my loss? In order to feel like I’ve ‘missed out’ I would have to want it in the first place - which clearly I didn’t
