Growing up with public information films about chip pan fires means I’d be too scared to turn it on!

A bit like a deep fat fryer but just blows very hot air round the food in a basket.

Surprised me how good they are!

Do they have any fat in them? Does the food taste fried?

Yeah, you can add a small amount of oil to them. Oven chips and stuff like that taste fine cos they come out crispy.

Anybody remember the old tv campaign about the danger's of chip pan fires?

Never throw water on a chip pan fire cuz you'll burn your head off. Cover the chip pan with a damp cloth.

Not had one for a few years now, but ya can't beat home made chips fryed in lard

Had to be red potatoes though, although it was a lot of faffing about, it was definitely worth it. As I live alone now, Aunt Bessie takes care of my chip needs

If anything happens just chuck some water on it and it'll be fine

There’s nothing comes close to home made chips. Double fried..... yummy!

Unfortunately it doesn’t get used very often these days. All this healthy eating malarkey!

Had one many many moons ago, well, we did at the family home. I haven't used one in over 20 years now.

One of my friends mums uses one and I can always tell if she's been round her mums for dinner before she comes to me coz I can smell it.

I want chips.

No chip pan

No toaster

No frying pan

There is, however, a chippy about 10 doors down
