I hope so. They need to stop feeling ashamed of being heterosexual. It's not their fault, it's a warped gene that made them that way. Hopefully it will put an end to all the straight bashing.

As has been said, why not have a don't be a twat day? Where's the problem in celebrating and promoting tolerance towards everyone.

I know it's never going to happen though because the entirety of the straight group are tarred with the same brush that covers the minority that are intolerant towards people sexually different to them.

Pride doesn't mean anything but love for anyone. Straight people didn't and don't have to fight for their right to be straight.

I hate that, it's like when someone says "black lives matter" and some privileged white guy pipes up with "all lives/white lives matter (too)". That's not the issue.

Research what pride is about, and why we do it. It's so important. And it's for straight people to align themselves with too!

The lack of knowledge for a straight flag shows how it is deemed wrong to promote straight pride.. the lgbtqiaa+++++ flag is shoved in people's faces, from everything from Google to Pepsi and even fish fingers.. So I understand why straight people would ask why they are told not to be openly proud

Oh quit playing the woe is me victim card, if you actually paid any attention you'll see pride is massively accepting of straight people too, has been for years, there's even a Heterosexual Flag (a flag for straight people) and a variant of it which shows you're an ally to the cause.

All this is easily available information to find if you just stop bitching about "straight people not allowed, where's straight pride?".

I'd say that's because the Rainbow flag has become the default since it represents "Everyone Under The Rainbow". There's flags for trans, bi, lesbians, asexual, straight, etc. That are not flown in commercial products but are still flown in the community, if all the other groups have accepted that the rainbow flag is the default then why is it only one group, the Heterosexual's, that complain about it and cry about it and demand something to be done about their fragilenes?

I think Pride is often misunderstood. Surely the point of pride in the first place was to promote the idea that people of non-straight sexuality have the right to be treated with the same human decency as everyone who is straight? I don't see the need for straight pride because what equal treatment do streight people need to fight for and what discrimination do straight people need fight against?

By "Nazi" you presumably mean someone who disagrees with you. LGBTQIA long ago stopped being simply about gaining rights; it is now a politically exclusive club that uses extreme language to try to silence anyone who dares to question their hegemony. Inclusive? No. Diverse? No.

With you on that hunni. People dont get beaten up for being straight. They have never been sent to prison for being straight.

Even today in some countries you can be locked and in some cases ececuted for bring gay.

Absolutely, I'm pretty much homosexual and I'm neither far right or far left and I'm certainly not a snowflake, as someone who frequents gay sites and forums I can confidently say that political views are as varied as in any other walk of life, some are left leaning, some lean to the right, some like Trump, some hate Trump, some voted for Brexit, some voted Remain, there certainly is no link that being LGBT means you are a far left snowflake, all it means is that there are a small minority of people like the very obnoxious Owen Jones that like to make a lot of noise and use LBGT as a platform for their own political agenda.

Photos and videos of them doing what? Remember: the Nazis murdered millions of people. What were these people doing? Your use of the term allows you to dismiss them, when they are the very ones with whom engagement should occur. Showing support for the Nazis who murdered millions of people and implicitly saying they want the same thing to happen, genius.

Yeah, it's clearly those of us on the "left" who are wrong, not the people coming up with excuses for Neo Nazis. Neo Nazis who proudly call themselves that and wave the swastika flag.

By "Nazi" you presumably mean someone who disagrees with you. LGBTQIA long ago stopped being simply about gaining rights; it is now a politically exclusive club that uses extreme language to try to silence anyone who dares to question their hegemony. Inclusive? No. Diverse? No. "

I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but a gang dressed in combat gear, carrying weapons, waving Swastika flags, calling themselves National Socialist Movement and setting out to intimidate the "freaks" probably qualifies as Nazi in my book. They are actually rather proud of the title.

What was that brilliant film? Maybe it was called “Pride” where the gay community supported the miners strike and at the end the minors turned up at Pride. Omg loved that film will watch it this weekend when I get home. But it sums up the truth, spend time in someone’s company and you’ll find more in common than not.

"I think Pride is often misunderstood. Surely the point of pride in the first place was to promote the idea that people of non-straight sexuality have the right to be treated with the same human decency as everyone who is straight? I don't see the need for straight pride because what equal treatment do streight people need to fight for and what discrimination do straight people need fight against?

Equality feels like oppression, to those who used to be privileged."

I must admit my straightness is often getting in the way of me succeeding in life. Kids shout straight wanker at me on the streets when they see me hold hands with my girlfriend. The people at work often say something is 'so straight' when something is bad or lame. Just looking at the history of straight people in power often makes me wonder how I could ever expect to be, say priminister if the people knew I was straight. I mean imagine a straight priminister, that's mental right? Honestly I wish I wasn't straight when you look at the facts, its a massive handy cap. Wish I was gay then people wouldn't mock my sexuality, liken derogatory things to it and I would probably have been twice as successful in life. Gay people have it so awesome.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Stopped reading the thread when the Nazis entered as killers of millions. They didn't start that way and it was only because an entire nation, and their allies, turned a blind eye when they started to deem certain groups unacceptable.

Pride came out of group activism. NO ONE is preventing 'Straight Pride'. Those who want it just have to get off their arses and organise it. Except they don't really appear to want to celebrate their sexuality but kvetch in a Toby Young way that they are downtrodden and it's not equality unless everyone gets *exactly* the same things (which isn't equality).

Gosh, it's not even Thursday.

Today is the third anniversary of the massacre at the LGBT club in Florida.

The New Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church in Florida is marking the occasion with a three-day conference for its congregations called:

"Make America Straight Again"

“We are not trying to reach them. They are beyond reach, the Sodomites,” said Pastor Patrick Boyle.

The fight for equality is not won.

To those who feel somehow marginalised by the celebration of LGBT culture, I would ask you to consider the sheriff's deputy of Knoxville, Tennesee, who is calling for the authority to execute the "freaks and animals".

Grayson Fritts, as well as being a police detective, is a lay preacher who has been railing against Pride events in sermons.

"The Bible says the powers that be are ordained of God and God has instilled the power of civil government to send the police in 2019 out to these LGBT freaks and arrest them.

"All the pride parades, man, hey call the riot teams. Get the paddy wagon out here. We got a bunch of them going to jail, we got a bunch of them we're gonna get convicted. They've got their pride junk on and they're professing what they are, they're a filthy animal."

When asked for his reaction to the disclosure the local DA has opened an investigation into him, he replied: "Put homos death."

A police officer, with the power of the state vested him in.

Does this answer the question raised by some on here?

Full story is at Newsweek:

'PUT HOMOS TO DEATH': SHERIFF'S DEPUTY SAYS LGBT 'FREAKS' AND 'ANIMALS' SHOULD BE EXECUTED IN TENNESSEE SERMON

Before launching his religion-inspired onslaught against the LGBT community, Fritts requested a voluntary workforce reduction buy out from the sheriff's office, Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler has said.

Knox County District Attorney General Charme Allen has said all pending cases involving Fritts as a witness will be reviewed for bias following his inflammatory sermons. "I find this speech personally offensive and reprehensible. As District Attorney, my constitutional obligation is to protect the integrity of the justice system," Allen said.

"When any potential witness in a criminal proceeding expresses an opinion of hatred and/or bias towards a class of citizens, I am ethically bound to explore that witness' credibility. Accordingly, I am reviewing all pending cases involving Mr. Fritts to scrutinize them for any potential bias," she added.
