Were taught that some people fall in love with members of their own sex. Or, that a giant sky pixie will decide whether or not they've been good enough to go to paradise/heaven or hell when they die?

I’d rather they live in a world where falling in love with someone , regardless of sex etc , was natural

Maybe we need to start making children aware that heterosexual people can fall in love - it’s ok !!!

My daughter has never known anything else ... she played with polly pockets and had female weddings because it was never suggested that it was anything apart from normal.

I don't think anything needs to be taught with regards to relationships - it should come naturally.

My son taught me you don't need to come out as straight, gay or bi. He's now 18 and doesn't feel the need to tell anyone his sexuality other than those who need to know (meaning anyone he may choose to date)

I honestly think a school that only focused on academic elements would be a terrible place.

I think faiths should be taught in school - understanding breeds tolerance.

Sexual orientation isn't a belief it's real.

I try so hard to never make any assumptions about my kids sexuality.

My eldest son is gay and we are all very proud of him for coming out and being who he is.

My middle son's shool has an LGBT community and they are very accepting and encourage everyone else to be too via events and social media.

My youngest son recently had sex ed in P6 (he's 11) I was very proud of him for challenging some of the things they were discussing because it was pretty out dated and geared towards straight people only .

I'd rather all my boys grow up respecting others, knowing love is love and everyone has a right to be their own person. I also encourage them to be accepting and curious of people's religious beliefs,cultures and values.

Children don't necessarily need to be 'taught' anything. I find it's better to answer questions from their curious minds rather than to impose an understanding.

This goes for all parts of life, not just specific parts that are sometimes frowned upon. Openness is key.

Mine are 28, 22 and 20. I taught them to be themselves, follow their own paths and not let society dictate how they should live their lives.

I pretty much let them make their own choices and decisions. Mind you my middle child is completely opposite to me politically but that's up to him.xx

Our children know that people fall in love with people.

We’ve highlighted it to them from a very early age.

With L being more and more open about her bisexuality we wouldn’t ever want to hear them say that same sex relationships are wrong or even just think that way.

So yeah, teach them the way the world is.

Not the way certain people think it’s supposed to be.

She was also in the cathedral this morning for a service. I just don’t see why the two can’t live together. Rev Richard Coles would agree too.

As any children I have will already have at least one LGBT parent - me - and I could as easily end up settling down with a woman than a man, they'll always be aware that loving someone of the same gender is perfectly normal.

I was bought up to accept different beliefs to my own family's so I'd hope to bring any children of mine up in a similar fashion.

I,m pretty sure my eldest daughter and her husband are both bi, it doesn't bother me at all. They go on Pride rallies, watch Ru Paul's drag thingy ect. She doesn't say. I am proud of her for being herself xx

We all talk about it. We all debate it. We all have opinions about it. Facts are that we just don’t live by it. There’s very little tolerance for anything that’s deemed outside of societies norms. If we all stop gender identifying and put a stop to bigotry then free love will flourish. All starts with a totally open mind. Our children are born without opinions.....
