How true is this statement? I find it sometimes fun when I see it as a reply lol. I would agree but would say it is good to have your say and now with brexit too.

The two biggest causes of conflict around the globe. No wonder people don't want to talk about it. I certainly don't.

I’m open to discussing either or both! Although can’t say I’ve ever had those types of conversations over fab.

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Some may say I'm a dreamer

Maybe I am.....

There is a time and a place for such discussions but i don't think fab is a good platform for either

There are many many topics fab isn't a suitable platform for, but still they are debated and discussed.

Everybody's got a right to an opinion.

Which is a bit of a shame really.

This actually made me laugh... Last night with my fwb we talked a little politics... Then it somehow got on to race and bigotry then on to death and finally a little religion was thrown in there to boot it's cool when your comfortable with someone and able to discuss all that without judgment but I've had people want to talk politics on first socials before.. It's a no from me

Victoria, London

Didn't realise, but there is a specific forum (lower on the list) for politics, won't go there, but opinions can go there as far as I'm concerned!

Is that a statement that can really be seen as true or false?

As Father Jack would say, “That would be an ecumenical matter”!

It’s because we don’t talk about both in an open and calm way that extreme views fester beneath the surface.

It's ok to talk about them but both parties should accept each others view.

I'm quite passionate about my politics so if people do want to have a proper conversation with me politics will come up.

I am an atheist and I don't rely care for religion, but if someone I like is passionate about their faith I admire the passion and I'd never ask them to not discuss it.

I think it's really sad that as a society talking about politics is kind of discouraged. That's how you end up with not being properly represented by their government: people don't talk politics to them, they don't think they're political, they don't talk politics and then they don't vote.

I could go into my theory about the "ruling class" encouraging apathy in the working class to further their own agenda...But apparently people don't want to talk politics
