A one-hit wonder is surely different from a one-no.-1 wonder is is what you must be referring to. The Guinness Book of Hit Singles defines a one-hit wonder as an artist who had a no. 1 and no other top 40 singles. I don't entirely agree with that but it's a better definition. Using the definition of one no. 1, many legendary artists would qualify as one-hit wonders including Elton John and Genesis. That's surely not what anybody means by the term. | |||
