Because lots of people won’t meet bi guys. Also, they may only be into it situationally and not be into meeting men one on one. If you put that you’re bi on your profile, you would then attract men and maybe they don’t want that.

I think there could be a distinction between someone that will allow something to happen, ie get their cock sucked but they wouldn't actively look for it or desire it. I dont know if that makes them bi or just a super relaxed personality

Well to be honest I have verifications from men and TV / TS and I’m straight. On the surface you’d see I’ve got these Veri’s and think I might be bi... but if you read them (available except for anyone who has left site) you’d see it was people I spoke to and hit it off with and social occasions. Absolutely agree with this. If a guy is bi and is annoyed a woman won’t see him because of it he just has to live with it. It’s her choice.

If someone sees my face and says “no thanks!” I don’t get annoyed because they’re not giving me a chance... my face doesn’t attract them. If there is something about someone you don’t like you have the right to make that defining factor in your decision to / not to see them.

Alot depends on someone's reason for not wanting to meet bi men. If it's from a sexual health risk point of view then just because a man identifies as female doesn't change the perceived risk.

However if a woman doesn't want to meet a bi man because the thought of him having sex with another Male body (sucking cock. Having cock sucked by, penetrating a physical male body, or being penetrated by a penis) is abhorrent to her then her preference is still valid against bi men.

I'm not sure I want to get involved in this. But. I see a parallel with the occasional complaints about certain women's profiles - they say no single men, but have some single men in their verifications.

I don't see a problem with that. They're mostly not looking for men, so that's what they put in their profiles. But we're human, messy and inconsistent. If a woman occasionally wants a man, then she occasionally wants a man. There's no hypocrisy there.

Human sexuality is extraordinarily complex. No usable set of labels can ever cover all of the possibilities. We choose one that feels the most comfortable and wear it. It will never quite fit, but that's a failing of the label, not the person.

If a man thinks that 'straight' is a better fit for him than 'bi', he's going to call himself straight. He might strongly prefer women, but not 100% exclusively. That's reasonable to me. 'Bi' says something quite different.

My old fwb is bi and openly admits it now but took him a long time to come to terms with it. He was only orally bi back then and would never date a guy but likes the sexual side with guys. Nobody should be pressured into admitting this and should not be shamed either for being a ‘liar’. Let people identify as they wish, if they are truly bi, they will eventually come to terms with this in their own time.

Let's assume a guy isn't bi. Some days he has bisexual urges but really fancies women. He reads some of the dogmatic statements on this forum and puts bi on his profile. Sometime later he plays with a couple who has looked at his profile and expects bi play. When they suggest it there is a really awkward situation where the couple feel they have been "led on" by a guy pretending to be bi. No one did anything wrong. We just steadfastly refuse that a category of men exist who indulge in bisexual behaviour but do not find other men attractive and do not see themselves as bi.

Personally I'm a fan of the kinsey scale, it's simple and understandable.

Whilst I can see the process behind the three various forms of identifiers regarding sexuality, that requires a stark level of honesty from people and understanding from others. I do also feel that there is credance behind the 'liars' belief from many, simply because I've come into contact with many who do exactly that and have told me that.

I do believe that sexuality is fluid and fluid has a tendancy to leak out of pigeon holes, however when you're on a site that only recognises 3 states, men claiming to be straight when they have sex with men seems to be stretching credulity.

Labels are required on here and they need to be objectively quantifiable. Whilst clunky, bi is the option as that's all there is.
