"I try to force feed people when they visit. Even if someone's just popping in for a cuppa I have to make sure my house is tidy and I've got nice biscuits in. " Oh that’s a good one. My mumma always had a homebaked something something on offer. I’m not holding up my end on that one though.

"We always eat dinner at the table. Altogether if possible, no iPads/phones etc. " That was my home experience, I think that’s really important.

"Our strongest memories of our grandparents, who we were very close to, are being picked up from school and getting a little treat from the glovebox.. and Saturday mornings when my grandad would drive over at 20mph wearing his flat cap and his grumpy face to hand deliver pocket money to all the grandkids. These are treasured memories of our childhood and my dad now does exactly the same for my nieces and nephews. It's lovely to know that we will share similar memories with the next generation. Saff x " This is lovely!

"I sit in a bus seat in the same way as my mum used to, hands crossed in my lap at the wrists. We often used to notice we were both doing it and laugh. Been travelling this week with my daughter, and it tickled me to see she now does it too. That would have amused nanny " My mumma and I have this little humming habit when we’re concentrating that we both do. We were both oblivious to it until others pointed it out!

"This is a really heartwarming thread. My grandmother, my mum and myself are all very much so I think I've learned my peculiarities from both. We all do the sitting at the table to eat, box of cards, overfeeding. My grandma always takes around something when visiting someone. Whether that's a small bottle of their favourite tipple or a book they mentioned or homebaked goodies etc. She has a really good memory for preferences and is always listening out for things. I do the same." You are very good at listening out for things, it’s true xx

" Heaven forbid the cashier scans them in the wrong order too, sometimes they hand you something from the wrong bit and ruin the system
