moving on from another thread

Most of us block at some point but how do we feel when it is you that's been blocked (maybe for no apparent reason).

For me, I'm quite happy to be blocked...I dont take it personally. You can't please all the people all the time.

How do you feel?

99% of the time I don't care. If it's someone who's thrown their toys out of the pram it bugs me that they chose not to have a conversation and remove ill feeling. I don't do grudges in real life so this online thing baffles me sometimes.

Seriously I have not got anyone blocked.

In all the years I've been here I may have blocked about three and that was because they were obviously VERY OBVIOUSLY suffering mental problems and were problematically insistent.

I have now n then discovered that i'm blocked. I don't waste time thinking about it.

It depends on the reasoning. If it's someone I've never spoken to or told I'm not interested in it doesn't bother me.

If it's someone I've been talking to who has taken something the wrong way or made assumptions about me then it frustrates me because I don't get to have my say.

I the grand scheme of things though they don't want to talk to me ergo I don't want to talk to them.

It bothered me in the beginning. I always thought I'd done something Wrong so spent my time thinking of what I'd written on forums if I'd upset someone. After a while I realised it's just a filter for people I don't match with so it's all good

I have discovered the importance of the counterblock. Had a guy ages ago, didn't like something I did so ripped into me (this was someone on my list to meet). Fairly brutal, then blocked me. OK. Months later I find him noseying around my profile. No message, but lots of views. There are some things you don't come back from, so I now always counterblock the worst ones.

Not bothered at all. I block guys all the time, serval a day and it's usually because they failed to read my very clear instructions at the begining of my profile. Other times it's just that they had messaged me... I never responded... Then message me again the exact same message a week later when I may have changed my profile pic... Quite handy not to delete messages for this reason alone.

Mind I would get super upset if trim blocked me. Other than that I could not care less about being blocked.

I use the block button for a few reasons, but ultimately it's because I no longer want to talk to that person.

They've probably said or done something that's been rude enough (in my opinion) to warrant my action. Which us why I don't really care whether people think it's rude or not.

I also block men who show repeated and excessive interest via fab button. My profile is quite clear most of the time.

It is what it is. Simply someone removing you from contact. I think some folk find something personal and insulting in everything. We occasionally block ppl to remove any drama, either guys who haven't read the profile and are rude or just forum twats who we've had bad experiences with or folk where we'd rather they didn't know too much our business. It's not personal or aggressive it's just a block and it's within everyone's power to apply.

If I’m blocked it just means that we obviously are not compatible with each other so it’s a good thing. I do tend to counter block. The reason being is that people can change their minds about blocking and if they think I’m incompatible enough to block me one day then nothing I say or do another is going to change that. I’d rather we did not have the ability to contact each other

Usually not fussed. A forum regular from miles away that I’ve never spoken to, or interacted with in any way, blocked me. Which I find odd. We were never going to meet.

A couple I got on with like a house on fire, I thought, blocked me after I’d been to a wild party. Feel there should have been a clarifying message first,manners and all that. The rest of them, pffft.

I share your sentiments here Rubidoux! It doesn’t bother with the exception of being blocked after a while of chatting.

That said, half the site are on my block list for a number of reasons, not usually anything personal - usually just because they’re not my kind of people

I've only really found out when I've received abuse via pm and only realised I was blocked when I tried to reply.

All because I gave a crap review for a holiday bar which was being discussed on here, too.

Takes all sorts (and holiday bar owners) I guess.

There someone in the forum that’s blocked me who I’ve had zero interaction with, so it was a bit of a surprise, but I block people local to me that I don’t like the look of, so they don’t show up in searches. I block people who look at me too often who I don’t like the look of... so yeah, can’t blame them

For me, I'm quite happy to be blocked...I dont take it personally. You can't please all the people all the time.

How do you feel?

I've only really found out when I've received abuse via pm and only realised I was blocked when I tried to reply.

All because I gave a crap review for a holiday bar which was being discussed on here, too.

Takes all sorts (and holiday bar owners) I guess.

I'm laughing because I just can't imagine personally abusing/ blocking a user over the like

Hello Beach bar in Fuerte, apparently it was a swingers joint for a time so people were a bit prissy about it.

Now it's just a breeding ground for frustrated Bernard Mannings.

I mostly don't care. Much rather know that someone isn't interested and it prevents any "miscommunication"

Only bothered by one block and that is because I caused it by being an idiot. Top tip, never use fab under the influence of too much alcohol...
