I watched the weigh in, the other guy might be a hard hitter and full of fight, Mexican, fighting for his country, blah blah but you can't hide from the fact; he looks like an overweight, unfit, fat bastard with saggy man tits .

But he does hit hard, only takes one punch.

Should be a good night if I can stay awake through it. Good undercard.

Bring on a rematch and now money shouldn't be an objection to fighting Wilder and Fury. They are both undefeated and can demand more of the purse.

Just skimming through the fight now. AJ has superior reach supposed superior power and condition.

But Ruiz was like lightening. His hands flash all over the place.

Looks like AJ had concussion from the early round as some of the stuff he’s saying to his trainers is a little weird.

For those with any knowledge about combat sports could see from the beginning that he was slow, robotic and over muscled and would eventually be exposed at elite level. But everyone loved to big him up nevertheless. Time for Fury to make him look like a big dosser now.

There is something in what you say. Ruiz took the fight on six weeks notice after a hard fight in LA.

Just finished the fight.

Wow he wasn’t in it at all apart from his knockdown. Ruiz then gets up and knocks him down twice.

He looked out of it at the end just wanted to slouch in his corner.

Ruiz out fought and out thought him. He couldn’t even rely on his clinch uppercut as Ruiz just cut it off.

If the rematch is in the UK that’s going to earn mega bucks.

He's been massively overrated and it's no shock to seeing him eventually lose to a man with fast hand speed.

Before the Fury/Wilder fight there were people on here saying Fury's a clown and Joshua would one day put him in his place. This morning's performance emphasised what many others were saying, good footwork and or hand speed would be Joshua's undoing.

I always thought he would avoid Fury for this reason, I doubt he can now if Fury comes through his next two fights.

There'll be two rematches by December and then it could get interesting.

Ruiz had a game plan and although he was caught in the 3rd, didn't rush to finish the fight when Joshua was struggling, causing more damage through the rounds.

I looked at the odds after the 5th round and Joshua was still odds on. His legs were gone and he was getting outboxed and worn down. I must have been one of many who backed Ruiz in-play. This guy might have looked out of shape but he had a total of 15 weeks conditioning when you take his previous fight into account. He was so positive on the front foot. Joshua looked limited.

I guess there's a bit of work to do before the rematch. What do people think the gameplan will be? Get behind the jab and stretch the fight out?

I wouldn't say the gypsy king is boring , my opinion hes no talent at all compared with guys like Ali n Mike Tyson.. hes just a big guy who through him being a traveller sticks in. Personally I hate the cunt n pray to God AJ smashes him to bits .. I've met his uncle / old manager n been out drinking with him and hes even worse than Tyson.. arrogant horrid ex jail bird .

Now we can see why Joshua has been ducking fights, he got rattled by Parker and it was only because the ref stepping in saved him from losing that one.

He didn't have the heart or will to carry on, Fury would smack him all over the place, same with Wilder.

Well that was a shocker! Fair play to Ruiz, he came to fight and went for it as he had nothing to lose.

Joshua looked very stiff and got into too many tear ups with him.

I'm actually hoping that Dillian Whyte gets a chance at Ruiz, think that would be a great fight

Joshua seemed relieved he'd lost after the fight, very odd. It showed what we suspected in that his chin isn't that great. Mind you similar comments would apply to Wilder.

In a pre-fight interview Joshua said he hadn't watched any tapes of Ruiz as he's an old sparring partner and he knows all he needs.

The Ruiz/Parker fight should have been essential viewing.

Hats off to Ruiz, he did a job. This wasn't even a close fight, I think Joshua took the first round and then was totally blown away. During the 7th, Joshua looked like he was willing his corner to get him out of there.

His Dad looks like he had taken issue with Eddie Hearn at the end. If a fighter is asking what Round it is so early in the fighting and asking whys he’s feeling like he is then should they have pulled him out. He had a massive shiner going into the fight so something’s gone down.
