Just go with it mate. I'm domestically challenged at the best of times, I'm just relieved my post made some sort of sense at all.

Hope you got a good hacksaw as that's gonna be rock solid by the time it's set, and you can kiss goodbye to ya sugar jar to get it out.

Chalk it down to experience and you being a daft bugger and dilute the sugar until you can wash it out.
