Narcissism is different from narcissistic abuse in a relationship. And yeah if you question if you are then you aren't as narcs will never question themselves, they believe they are superior and would never admit to faults or weaknesses.

That’s me ex right there. He was also diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Living with him was quite an eye opener to say the least

I was married to a narcissist for 17 yes but didn’t know till 5 yrs after we split so I took great pleasure in telling him he was.

Result was he tells everyone I’m narcissistic as I’m the controlling one. I question whether I am quite often but then realize I can’t be if I am questioning myself.

Oh and I’m not controlling it’s just my way is always best!!

You’re thinking of narcissistic personality disorder, which is different from narcissism. Every human being on the planet has narcissistic traits, though, not to the degree that it would be labelled as a disorder.

Is it the same thing as being an utter twat? I reckon most things in life tend to belong on a scale or spectrum, I'd say we're all a bit narcy at times. Don't fear the label, innit....

My understanding of NPD is that there are three different types of narcissist and five subtypes.

Narcissistism isn't necessarily a bad thing. Most successful people are narcissists.

That’s me ex right there. He was also diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Living with him was quite an eye opener to say the least

Blumin' eck - that’s like a whole corporate office worth of people all in one!
