I think too many people get offended on behalf of others, probable more so than the person who's supposed to be offended.

It can be a fickle place.

But let's be honest, its impossible to interpret the context behind a lot of what's written on the forum, especially if it isn't articulated very well.

Someone querying your original post can appear confrontational,whereas in normal life, a soft voice,smile and quizzical look would be interpreted completely differently?

If someone posts something that hits home maybe that could be a sore point. Or if the OP comes across as being insensitive or out to court a bit of controversy they will usually find it.

For me I feel for posters who maybe have a genuine concern or seek advice and have that de-railed and made fun of just because they may not have phrasesd it all that well. The latter is what really gets me.

Are some people on here overly sensitive and easily offended? Probably. But there are those on here that are deliberately provocative and revel in the offense caused. And there are also plenty who will see an opposing opinion and most definitely a challeng opinion as someone one taking offense even if it's not the case
