begins on wednesday and have been having a bit of trouble thinking of something sensible to give up this year.

Had thought about giving up tea..a bit of an addiction for me so thought it would be a great one....did a dry run at the weekend...within 12 hours I had a blinding headache and nausea so decided against a 40 day and night cold turkey on that one.....

little house on the praire

Im not religious but i believe in self denial, twice a year i deny myself of something i enjoy for a period of time. I usually do it to coincide with lent as lots give up stuff then and the other time is just before christmas. The bugger is my birthday is always in lent so have to be careful what i decide to give up lol.

Ive been thinking but havent decided what im giving up this time yet. Before and during christmas it was the television didnt watch it for 6 weeks

Once that has subsided, you will find you sleep much better as i did when i gave up coffee, just don't change one caffeinated drink for another

Why do people convince themselves to give up something they enjoy? What sort of God requires that?

I'm not giving anything up for anything or anyone cos I'm a self-centred selfish bastard.
