I can't remember getting refused service but I got to the grand old age of 51 before I got barred from a pub for the first time.

I suffered the embarrassment of being refused service in the local pub that was known for serving underage drinkers....when I was 18!! Just didn't have ID in me at the time...to make matters worse my mate who was 16 at the time they served no bother!!

Ive been refused because I was wearing a cap and another time because I was on my phone whilst ordering a pint.

On a mooch

I’ve been refused entry to a Walkabout of all places at the age of 45 at midnight.... group already in and I was the last to enter and the soberish one.... but I got smart with the bouncer when he asked “have you been drinking” my response, “are you kidding (laughing) who hasn’t been at this time of night”

Short shift out of line haha

But I had a better night in a hotel bar rather than the sticky floored W

Me and my female friend went into a bar, lot of people waited to be served so we just started dancing whilst we waited for a queue to go down. Then we've been asked to leave coz we didn't buy drinks straight away.. I also think they were jealous of our free spirited dancing as others were enjoying it. Oh well

Seriously? So you have never seen someone getting served whilst holding a phone in their hand . Doesn't mean I'm being ignorant. I think the way you just judged me is being "ignorant as fuck"

Yes, most bars in central York will refuse you in trainers, even smart ones. I've been refused entry to a pub for apparently being too d*unk, when I'd only had two pints and wasn't even acting up or slurring, the bouncer was just being a dick. And at 18 I was refused a few times because I had a baby face and forgot to bring ID out...

I wait until the person has finished their call to serve them. No we don't have signs, but if they aren't prepared to give me their full attention I'm not gonna fuck about having a 3 way conversation with them and whoever they're talking to trying to take their order, when I can serve the 2 other people waiting to get served in the same or a shorter amount of time.

Been there, done that, got grunted at with their order, then if you try to repeat it back to them to make sure you've got it right you get huffed at, sighed at, dirty looks because you have the audacity to interrupt the conversation they're having, or you stand for an age waiting for payment because they're concentrating on the call, not on the fact they're being served.

I've been asked to leave a few ??

But I am going to say, if they won't serve you with a cap on take it off and wait till you finish your call to order.

But at the end of the day the licencee can refuse anyone service with no reason.

Just check in on face book and give a bad review.

I did that after an argument with some door staff, then the fun began when I had them and their mates start commenting, lol, two showed up for interview when I was supervising and didn't remember me until I asked if they always use homophobic language online!

I was also refused a room when I turned up at a hotel in the Midlands.. Because the lady on reception said they didn't take cash.

I rang Central reservations before I got there and the man on the phone said they will take cash.. Which I told her but she wouldn't believe me.. So i rang Central reservations again when I was there and handed the phone to her and the guy on the phone told her to take cash.

She still wouldn't take cash and I ended up having to sleep in the van

I was once refused entry into a hotel becuase they thought I was a prostitute. They'd seen me walk in with my uncle who is white and didn't believe we were related and wouldn't let me back in again as I didn't have a room key. I had to call him and my aunt to "verify" me. My aunt tore them a new one when she got downstairs.

I was at a rodeo in Oregon and saw on old man refused service at the open air bar because he didn't have ID. He had to be in his 80's and he was with his family. They were ok about it though and didn't kick up a fuss

I don't think it's just an age thing as they don't like to serve anyone with a foreign id. They are a real stickler for id across the pond.
