Dominant men

The right place

I was chatting to a friend that made the comment that she attracted dominant men but that they often end up being possessive.

Is that a common experience? Is there a link between the two?

I never believe those cliches

Is it a cliche ??

I’ve never met anyone on here who’s possessive of me - I’ve tried though

That’s because they’re all tied up in your cellar

I don't know whether that's the case but being possessive I find very unattractive.

Burnleyish (She/They)

I think some men get confused between dominance and possessiveness.

Most people I know who are dominant are actually very comfortable with none monogamy

Me too!

The fatigue is bad today, so words are harder to think of

I've found a few passive men to be possessive too.

Yes! I don't find that dominant men are more possessive but I do go through phases of attracting the possessiveness. Not sure of their unifying attributes apart from being a bit of a twat.

I’ve experienced this on one occasion so can’t say there’s definitely a link between the two.

I'm actually becoming afraid of the smarty pants I'm turning into

I don't think there is any correlation between the two.. possessiveness can occur whether someone is dominant or submissive imo

Hmmm, maybe they sniffed out that you were perhaps vulnerable at the time, and that was their unifying attribute?

I don't obviously know if you were at that time, but going on past experiences I'd take a guess.

Id say possesiveness comes from insecurity more than anything else

I'm (Bloke) quite a dominant/take control guy in normal life but like to be more laid back and go with the flow in bed.

Not how it usually works out as ladies seem to want me to be dominant so that's how it tends to go.

I'm pretty sure I'm not at all posessive unless someone tries to take my last Peroni ??

by the sea

My own father was the most dominant man I’ve ever met and he was extremely possessive of my mother

She once said she liked it so it obviously worked well for them

I’ve a gay friend that is showing signs of a dominant that is very possessive of me since we connected on a deeper level

I don’t always see it as such a sinister thing I can view it as very strong people that wants a lot of control sometimes it works but often not

The mind and our senses get turned on and off by very different things and we are all strange beings at times

I can believe there is some degree of correlation as I am the exact opposite of both traits!
