How often do you give up trying to talk to somebody when all they can give you is closed yes or no type answers?

It seems some have no idea of how to have a conversation that doesn’t feel like it’s all one sided. To top it all, when we give up, after a couple of weeks they’ll come back and try to reopen the conversation only for it to fall back into the same pattern.

It's no different from real life though really - some people you will click with, others you won't - you can't expect to get on with everyone and those that you don't just fall by the wayside or fizzle out - it's just natural selection at work

Erm quite often. I like conversation that flows and makes me smile. Ones that involve a lot of closed responses make me feel there's little to no interest and effort, rightly or wrongly.

Buuut, to be fair, sometimes people are really crap at talking virtually and then you meet and they can't shut up. So it's not always indicative of how it'll be. It just depends if you have the patience to get there.

Yeah it can be tough. I will give it a couple of days then leave it at that. No point trying to keep it going

See, I try to be fair and think they struggle online, but there’s only so much you can do isn’t there?

The phrase flogging a dead horse come to mind!

Oh dont. I got a guy. Starts HEY. I answer HEY. Then its wtudn. Meaning what you doing. I say i dnt do text speak properly. He comes back. K. I end it. Then following night same thing been goin on for weeks. I hate to block but the guy just doesnt go lol

You’d miss him now. It’s like a rattle on the car. You get used to it and in the end it’s quite comforting!

It's like at the moment I'm speaking to a girl on tinder... I'm writing full on messages and thinking about stuff to say but all I get is one worded answers from her most the time ... She seems self centered likes to answer questions but never attempts to continue the conversation by asking stuff for me to answer....

Im giving it another couple days if she doesn't converse I'm just going to say sorry to her but I feel like you're not making any effort, forget her and then keep swiping again.

Sometimes I screenshot the previous conversation back to them so they can see how dull it was.

Conversation should be more natural anyway not me answering a series of questions to which the responses I give aren't engaged with they just send another series of questions.

Anything sex related gets the I don't do wank chat response.

We’ve had this so many times

We’ll get a message from a profile that appears to tick all the right boxes and enter into conversation with them. Well, attempt to..... The replies invariably consist of a couple of words. This can go on for a number of messages until it just becomes too painful.

They are usually well verified profiles and I wonder if they find it so easy to get meets that they don’t feel they’ve got to make any effort ?

Puts us right off if there’s no initial connection.

I understand that they might not be into us, but invariably they come back a couple of weeks later!
