As we all know this is the greatest album ever released, unbelievably it was released 30 years ago. But what is your favourite tracks from the album and what is the worst (they’re aren’t any).

If for some Unfathomable reason this isn’t your favourite album, what is ?

My favourite tracks are; waterfall, she bangs the drums and I am the Resurrection.

Least favourite: none, they’re all amazing.

Love Ian browns lazy vocals and Reni’s languid brushed drumming on that track.

For me this was album I’d waited nearly 4 years to come out, first saw them in November 85, then another 4 times till the Blackpool gig in 89. Still remember listening to it the day I bought it, at home sat on the end of my bed in awe.

Best track

Made of stone

Not my fav album ever but still a unbelievable piece of music from start to finish.

I’ll let Elizabeth My Dear take one for the team if I have to let one go.

I know they had a few songs a while, before the debut was finally released. Elephant stone is great track that wasn’t originally on the album.

The slow intro of I wanna be adored just builds and builds the tenesion before Reni's explosion on the drums just blows away everything that has come before. It was if one track just wiped out SAW pop as yesterdays shite. Only Kylie was regularly able to carry on and get number ones after this album came out from that style of music. It really was one of those albums that changed music and said 'we are going in this direction now, join us or you are nothing'. Similar to the opening chords on Hard Days Night or Anarchy in the Uk.

Just stunning.

I think a lot of it has to do with age I was when it came out, music has more of an impact when you’re younger. If it came out later I’d probably just think it was a good album. I can hear the influences now, but at the time hearing Fools gold for the first time was like discovering a brand new colour.

Without doubt the most important album of my life.

I can remember the very first time I heard it. I'd have been about 12 years old. Each song, one after the other, sounding like it was being beamed down from another planet. Up to that point I'd never heard anything like it and it immediately changed everything for me. Music was no longer just that top 40 stuff on the radio, no longer something you just have playing in the background. Music suddenly had meaning and purpose. It was visceral. It pointed the way to some more well lit place.

Waterfall is probably my favourite track (though I love them all). Hearing John Squire play it live when he was going solo back in about 2003 was a highlight of my life!

Seen in far off places

It's my favourite album of all time, together with 'The Queen Is Dead' - The Smiths.

Favourite track? They're all great tbf...

'Where Angels Play' is quite simply from the gods (albeit, not on the album itself)

I was only 11 when it was released but by God that album changed the musical scene. Never thought id get to see them live but when they reformed for the Heaton Park gigs I knew I had to be there. I was a stay at home Dad at the time and got grief for paying £95 for a ticket and travel. So glad I did though. The intro to I Wanna Be Adored raises the goosebumps every time.
