If you wear makeup, how do you like to do it? (better than "these types of makeup styles suck")

I tend to go for bold lips and eyes (one or the other, sometimes both: weirdly I can carry it off where others can't, to do with my colouring). My lips look fine without lipstick but I find very natural lipstick colours wash me out. I go very, very light on cheek products (I do use blush, highlight, and contour, but sparingly) and prefer a semi-matte finish. Eyebrows fairly natural. I don't use bronzer or fake tan.

Very minimal usually, I like a bold red lipstick but not day to day.

Daily I'll wear a bit of mascara and blusher, that's usually it.

Daily i wear mascara and that’s it

If it’s a night out I’ll go bright; bright eyes, and bright lips. And thick, bold eye liner. And glitter! My 15 year old sister is amazing at makeup so always does it for me.

I have to admit I’m not any good with makeup, I own some lovely things but rarely use them as it all feels a bit alien and “heavy” when I put it on. I tend to just use a little powder and a slick of lip balm.

I’d love someone to do a makeup makeover on me! It would be interesting to know what the alternatives would be, but I’m not sure how to shake the conscious feeling of having stuff on my face thing.

Thick black eyeliner. That’s all. The brand is important as it has to be real black.

I tend to focus on my eyes. Eyeliner, a little eyeshadow (I’ve been playing with my new Urban Decay palette), mascara. Then a little blush and highlighter. Finished off with my tinted Dr Paw Paw lip balm. I rarely wear lipstick these days.

Never wear any make up at all during the day.

On a night out I go for dramatic eyes and neutral lips. I love intense red lipstick but just cant carry it off.

Red lipstick. Every day.

The rest changes on my mood but for work I never wear eye make up as I'm terrible for rubbing my eyes while I'm in my office.

A lot of brands do makeovers (cost redeemable with purchase) and makeup lessons. I've had a lesson which I found amazingly valuable in terms of increased confidence in applying things.

You get used to the feeling, and some fairly light products like tinted moisturiser definitely exist. (or if you don't want to, that's fine too, obviously)

I wear mascara if I am going out - sometimes eyeshadow and some tinted vaseline. Day to day it's lip balm and that's it.

I'd love to be able to know how to apply makeup properly - I recently had a face applied at Charlotte Tilsbury for a works do and I loved how I looked, like me but better and glowy. It's just something I was never interested in until recently. I also find that I don't like textures on my skin, I can be really sensory and if they are perfumed etc it makes me feel a bit sick.

I like colour correcting BB cream and a little powder / blush

Mascara and tinted lips.

Or dark red lips for a night out.

Most of the department store brands will put them on you for no charge/ expected purchase. Say you want to wear it for the rest of the day before you commit, then do. Based on my experience, Mac are more likely to educate you on what works and why, and I gather NARS have a red for everyone. (my super killer sexy red is NARS)

For lower cost and less scary colours, the Boots No 7 colour match is very good (their lipstick colours are a bit pedestrian, but that's not always a bad thing).

Check out the universal one by Max Factor. It's clear, so works with anything. Not as soft so goes further than the Urban Decay one people rate.

I have some coloured ones when I want to mess with the colour of my lipstick a bit.

I don't wear make up during the week.

I do wear it when I go out. I have lots and lots of lovely stuff as my daughter is a makeup blogger and gets sent lots.

Much to her dismay, I don't contour and my eyebrows are not fleek. She was astonished that I didn't bake my face either.

I tend to slip, slap, slop...

I would like to do a flick in the corner liner. I'm going to get one that comes with a stamp.

I'm going to look at the thicker mascara now, thanks for that suggestion. I usually wear a lightish one as I have long thick lashes and mascara tends to clump them together

"I haven't got a make up style i tend do do the mascara, eye liner, lipstock combo but I want to try a bolder approach. I have some false eyelashes looking at me waiting to be tried out and I want to have a go with the glitter eyeshadow I saw on First Dates this week.

My daughter put some false eyelashes on me once,I could just feel them there all the time they irritated the heck out of me.

I have a "very important occasion" coming up and I'd really like to wear false lashes for it. I did wonder if they'd irritate and make my eyelids feel heavy.

On my wedding day my makeup artist instructed me that I MUST wear absolutely massive false lashes. Said they’d look good for photos.

She was absolutely right (obviously, it’s her job ) but oh my god. They were so heavy. I paid an extra £26 for them as well

I still have them but I couldn’t wear them again!

I think that as I've grown older my eyes are less noticeable iyswim. I'd like to make them stand out more but I might rip them off if they annoy me

Backup options, a really thick mascara (primer will also help), and eyeliner of various types. I'm not a fan of falsies.

I would like to do a flick in the corner liner. I'm going to get one that comes with a stamp.

I'm going to look at the thicker mascara now, thanks for that suggestion. I usually wear a lightish one as I have long thick lashes and mascara tends to clump them together"

A spoolie (mascara brush) will help with clumps.

"I don't wear make up during the week.

That's a technique right? "

What is a fleek?

..

To work I wear mascara and a bit of lip balm.

When I go out I focus a bit more on my eyes, eyeliner and eyeshadow. I wear lipstick and a bit of face power. but it’s still quite minimal really.

If i’m not going out i go bare faced.

Work is Moisturiser, BB Cream, smidge of concealer, Mac, Nars or Laura Gellar Blusher, eyeliner in green or purple to play up my eye colour. I can rarely wear mascara as it just smudges and runs on me, no matter the product. I wear a lipbalm or pale lip gloss.

Evening out i do the same above but throw in eyeshadow. I have a few eye shadow make up palette’s from Kat Von D and Urban Decay, and a proper lipstick of which i have many in various shades of rose.

I leave my eyebrows alone as they’re good as they are. I don’t contour or anything either.

No make up most days.

If I'm going out a little powder, eye shadow, mascara and eyeliner neutral shades and either lip balm or a bright red lipstick.

Daily, I don't tend to wear makeup at all.

Otherwise it depends on the occasion.

Daytime occasion would be more neutral colours. For an evening I tend to go for a bolder style and love red lipstick.
