Spring '99? I was flush with cash as I was newly qualified and earning very well with virtually no expenses. Living the dream

About to go through my second divorce and be made redundant from my job. 1999 was my annus horribilis.

Seen in far off places

No doubt I would have been feeling a tad jaded - after all, the nineties (working in the city of London as a young chap) was one big party!

I don't remember the match

I do, however, remember the parade

I physically could not get out of the office. The pavement was a wall of people.

I didn't get to leave work til 10pm that night - not a happy bunny

I bought it. But it didn't have the right version of my favourite song that I wanted.

I got it in HMV a few weeks ago

Bank holiday weekend, aged 24.........I was probably either raking in the pennies at work earning double time and a day off in lieu or out on the lash spending the pennies I’d earned for the last bank holiday
