The land of grey peas and bacon

I went to watch it last night it was a good film. However it got me thinking about memory loss. To not remember who the people are around you of the life that you had and maybe even going back 5 years and thinking that is your life right now...

I believe Alzheimer's is a degenerative condition, and not an acute one. However, I could be wrong.

Not realy giving the story away as the theme of the film is in the trailer.

Eck! I really couldn't deal with thinking I was in the same position as 5 years ago! what a frick'n nightmare that was

I would be in the opposite state to your filmy person, and have to re-learn that my EX had just dumped me for a younger woman and I'd bought a house I couldn't afford to keep lol!

little house on the praire

I have a condition called transitional global amnesia. When im in an episode i cant make new memories. Ive suffered from it for years but didnt know what it was i just called it memory blanks. ie i could have a telephone conversation with someone and they would phone me and say "oh i told you that earlier" and id have no recollection of the call. Or i would see the start of a television programme and the next thing it would of ended and i would not have fallen asleep but not know a thing about it. I only truelly know ive been in an episode when someone else witnesses it as i have no memory of it obviously. When im in one, i become confused, repeat myself constantly and just cant take in information. I was only diagnosed when i had a massive one that left with without two full days memory and my mum witnessed it as id somehow fallen through a full length mirror and rang her. You can still function ie, i would be able to make a phone call or make a drink as these are things ive always known how to do. Mine can usually last from literally a few minutes to a few hours. Im more aware of when ive been in an episode now as there are some key signs like i find ive deleted things when ive been in one. But it is weird having to rely on other people to tell you what happened to you
