Whether it’s the sea scent of crashing waves, or mudflats of a saltmarsh, soft sand between your toes or pebbled crunch beachlines, or still, limpid waters of a loch or lake, or glugging of a babbling brook, large strips of riverside or grassy earth clumped sides of a country river meandering through field...what and/or where are your favourite watery places?

Anywhere I can get my worm out and dangle it in the water and hope for something to nibble on it. I am talking about fishing of course

A world all of his own

The bottom of my garden, by the pond. The gentle noise of the water blade and the fishes just swimming around. It's very tranquil.

The opening chapters of Moby Dick make great references to mankinds affinity to water.

It's the Ocean without doubt. You're almost swimming in her soul when you're on or in it. The way she can toss you to and fro with abandon, the way she endlessly moves. Nothing like it. A great leveller of people

Since I came back home I miss the beach. But along a quiet river bank through fields in the shade of overhanging trees is still a good place to be.

Anywhere the still waters live watching reflections in the sun, or even the fast flowing babbling streams where my dog can splash

I find it strangely peaceful..

Ayr

There's a loch not that far away from me. It's quiet, relaxing and surrounded with amazing looking hills.

I love it so much, it might even be my final resting place. We'll see. LOL

"The hot tub in a club "

Ooh no! This is a watery environment I don't like! I'll stick to my own bath and various natural stretches of water (to look at only as I can't swim)

It’s not so much the place, as the feeling of enjoyment I associate with it. There have been lots of them and I treasure the feelings deeply

Lying in my own wee doesn't have the same attraction to me, strangely enough.

Hiding in the shadows

Mine is my current profile pic.

My happy place

The beach where I live

My son took it without my knowing on our evening dog walk.

I'd just run up the beach & jumped up onto the rocks.

I love my beach

Fair enough, but being groped by random unattractive strangers without consent in an unhygienic swamp isn't my definition of enjoyment

That’s very true, and sometimes I’m ashamed of my entire gender.

Natural outdoor places - not swimming pools and hot tubs.

The sea, any sea. Growing up so far from it, I only got to see it once a year for a couple of weeks. It still gives me a thrill when I look at it now.

I can see and hear it as I type this so I'm all blissed out for the time being.

Rivers and lakes do it for me. I used to go to a river in the lake district with amazing deep pools. It was freezing but I loved swimming there.

The most beautiful place I've ever been is Lydford Gorge in Devon. The woodland and the water make for a simply magical place.

North Bucks

My homeland. It’s surrounded by water. One side with wonderful crashing azure water. The other deep and calm.

I love the smell the sound.

Take me home.

I once spent a couple of evenings alone in a hotel room with a small balcony and views across Lake Como

Sitting out there with bread, cheese, meats and a bottle of red, bliss!

Kick off your shoes and run towards to the sea!

A world all of his own

As for most dramatic, waking up in the grounds of castle urquhart on the banks of loch Ness. The lock was absolutely glass flat for as far as the eye could see. To see such a massive body of water so utterly calm was amazing.

The peaty water of Loch Lomond or the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

As I’m not close to either my hot tub will suffice right now.

Especially North Cornwall. This, and The Upper Derwent Valley in The Peak District from my time there as a youth and don't forget to include a stay at The Ladybower Inn.

bradford

For the last 5 weeks ive been 20ft away from the sea, Whilst im staying in the cottage and working.

It was wildish waves crashing on the rocks interesting rubble from the sea waves.

At moment sea has just come in and every now and again the waves roll in some nice biggish ones.
