1. If you could trade a year of your life away for £30,000, how many years would you trade? If any?

2. Would you trade past years, or future years?

Also; if you haven’t seen Shrek 4 (the worst Shrek, I know) he trades one day of his life away, and picks a past day. It ends up being the day he was born, and it could have all been tits up

No, these years would just be gone from your memory and anyone else’s memory who knew you in those years. You’d remain the same age now

That's not a lot of money. I wouldn't give a minute, honestly.

Life is precious, if you're wasting it then you should think of better ways to live it, not dollars.... Imho of course

Some as a deposit for a house, I’d get a new car (we have a very old corsa which we spend more money putting through its MOT than what it’s worth) and pay off some debt

Yeah I'd trade a few past years for sure (too deep really for this thread, and way to personal) and take a few off the end as I'll probably wrap myself round a tree some day lol, say 3 from before and a few off the future for 150k, sort me with no debts, a fast car, decent house and savings for whatever expensive shit I take a liking too next!

But at the end of the day you'd still be the same person, just driving a newer car and with a mortgage aka more debt.... Plus someone else would be worse off because you'd sell them your corsa and it would break down on them all the time.... Would you actually give proper years of your life for that? You could change things yourself without money, just by thinking a little differently and taking some alternative actions. I appreciate that might sound really patronising and I'm sorry but that's definitely not how I meant it, I just see life and time as the most valuable and precious commodity there is

I just meant, if there's something more that you want out of life, then most of us if we're honest with ourselves could do something more to help achieve it. I'm sat here for instance on fab and if there was something else I wanted in life then I'd be better switching my phone off and working towards that thing....

somewhere in the sticks

The value of money is subjective but so is the value of life or a lifetime.

If everyone put as much effort into getting appreciating the moments in life they do have as they do into getting value for money our society would be unrecognisable.

I wouldn't trade £ for any part of my life, even the truly awful times. Every moment in your life is precious...ask a dead person.
