London

I wonder how much of the "curry goat" made in the UK is actually real goat? I thought it was a really hard meat to find, and quite tough if not cooked properly.

I'd give it a go. Maybe stewed for half the day though

Not that hard. There is a goat farm near us. Loads of happy dwarf goats bouncing about. Then the owner asks if you want chops etc...

Male goat is easy to find as only the females are kept for their milk.

Sutton

That went off track,

I like both mutton curry and curry goat and I like them hot.

But to go off track I like a proper Scots mutton pie both hot and cold.

It depends on where you live, where I've lived in my life goat has always been easy to come by, but you still get the odd butcher try to give you mutton.

Handsworth used to be the best place to get goat, but my main butcher is now a Polish delecatesen, it's no hardship though, they got some fantastic cooked meats and sausage
