Nope, i use viber, its a great app to send free messages and make free calls.

Just beware because any app that is always connected to a network (like all those mentioned) will drain your battery

Can I just ask though, is it not true that you only get the service free if you text or call someone who is also using Viber?

Yes the other person needs the application but it's a free application.
