"It's an awful smell. It's taken a year to lose the smell from my newest chair, though use and having the window open. The new mattress is still horribly smelly. " That is the flame retardant chemicals they treat the mattresses with,many of which are carcinogenic. Get a untreated wool filled mattress next time especially if its a child's mattress because wool is naturally flame resistant and non toxic unlike one's that contain polyurethane which is petroleum based. | |||
