Continue here. I am and I went today. I did a full body workout and I do that 3 times a week and I follow a summer shredding diet like a mini cut. I eat 300kcal below maintenance, how do you motivate yourself to go? I watch motivational videos and one of my favourites are 3d abs with the great dane https://youtu.be/OmGfHk46OSU

"Nope, out in the countryside, gravel tracks,n Sea front trails on bike, much more fun "

And your point is ? (Its rhetorical I know your point)

I try not to knock anothers poison, if they enjoy it , its positive and harms none else you have my moral support

I also mountain bike , its fantastic, just like the gym and most other such passtimes , it has highs, lows , fun euphoria and pain

Seriously I love riding up hill , earn my downhill but fun it is not, many activities that benefit the body and mind may not be considered FUN but certainly rewarding

Most activities enhance and benefit the endocrine system .having FUN is only part of the journey, FUN may not be the best attribute to build psychological fortitude although has its place holistically

I have been doing lunchtime heavy weight sessions , for me it has saved my sainity , if that's ok , that's kinda FUN

Also I love endorphins

And pah mountain biking fun , I kite surf , much more FUN than bland mountain biking(very tongue in cheek)

I think you’re slightly over sensitive and defensive about going to the gym. But I think the main point is that gyms are often sterile places for a lot of people, who need more stimulation than just lifting weights under Fluorescent lighting.

You seem very experienced, how many differing gyms have you been a member of , my experience is they are more like a community, functional is not a negative, although they are not to everyone's taste , perhaps you would have more fun if you waxed lyrical about your passions , than point out your negativity towards anothers pleasurable pastimes

And if you think it is JUST lifting weights then that statement alone illustrates facetious malevolence or ignorance xxx

I’ve seen gyms on google, no need to step out your front door now with the inter web. I have been to no gyms this century, I know it’s incredible annoying to some people how I stay in such good shape. But I consider my work my gym, it’s also my passion. As for waxing lyrical, this is a kink I haven’t heard of, but I’m an open minded bloke and I’ll try most things once.

I think it positive to think work as a gym , I too choose that perspective. I use my gym for specific purposes strength and measurement as couple of them , however I prefer to compliment them both with many physical activities at varying intensity

Anyhow possibly you enjoy cycling?

Standards monohydrate, all the fancy versions are no better, only better at emptying your pocket.

Cheap as chips,5g a day, no need to front load or cycle on and off.

24/7 have a gym in Riverside

Deadlifts today!

First time after 6wk break.

Took it easy, 2x10 just the 20kg bar to warm up.

Then 5x5 @ 30kg, 40kg, 50kg

Was easy really thought I'd struggle after a long break.

Did leg press, extensions & curls after.

My mojo is definitely back.

I do 1 1/2 hours per night, 5 nights per week at home, and a 5.3km Park Run on a Saturday morning. I don't watch/measure calories, just eat when I'm hungry, and top up my protein intake with nuts. I just want to keep the middle-aged spread at bay, and remain flexible with a strong core

I went this morning, what about you? I did a quick full body workout and I did a new pr in the flat bench press. I lifted 2kg more for my one rep max so now it is 94kg. I will now concentrate to do more reps with the 1 rep max before increasing it for few weeks

Bench day.... I do not like bench day. I do not like bench.

5 sets of 5, then onto 3/5 paused sets.

I failed on set 2.

I'm broken

Totally, utterly, completely broken.

Trained with one of my besties today. Tri's Bi's & Chest.

When I didn't think I could do one more rep, she wasn't letting me quit. She pushed me to failure on every set.

I collapsed on the floor, in tears after.

When the World Champ offers to give up their free time to train with you, because they believe in you, then it's worth the tears

Not had time for the gym this week but I did a 3.5 mile run on Tuesday after work and a 4 mile run last night so that sort of makes up for it... and a few walks at work yesterday gave me over 17000 steps so it's all good.

Camberley occasionally doncaster

Busy here. Started last Thursday with a heavy leg session. (360kg leg press for reps) Friday was a 2.4km run carrying a 20kg rucksack with squats and press ups every lap. Outside temp in the high 30s, then into the gym for chest, biceps, core and 70m farmers walks with 35kg dumbbells. Saturday was another 2.4km run with weight then a fast, heavy intense shoulder workout with 30 secs fast rope between sets. Monday was a 2.8km run with weight- doing at least 1 x 100m sprint each lap. Then Monday evening was a good heavy back session. Tomorrow is another early morning weighted run then chest/biceps/core in the evening.

I went this morning, too. 30 minutes very brisk walk on the treadmill (about 120 steps per minute), 7.5 minutes on the rowing machine at 30%, several free weight exercises concentrating on the upper body and then back on the treadmill for a 5 minute cool down.

I was off my feet for about 5 months last year, having broken my foot and then once healed, had abdominal surgery. So getting my fitness back up and feeling great!

Hiding in the shadows

Awesome week.

2.5kg increase on bench Wednesday. Broke my mental block that's been holding me back.

Deadlifts today 10kg increase 5 sets of 5, 2,050kg total

My gym is currently mid expansion & refit, so it's been pretty chaotic for the last few weeks.

New machines arrived last night.

90% diet 10% workout lol

Its 100% diet and 100% workout if you don't give 100% on it all your cutting corner.

Yes, usually the saying is 80% is the diet and 20% is the training, my tip is to select one exersice per body part witch will be 7 exersices and each workout focus on the big 3, deadlift, squats and bench press and have a high protein and medium high carb diet.
