Menu items you can't pronounce

What do you do if you want to order a item of the menu you can't pronounce/unsure of the correct pronunciation? Do you:

A: Change your order something else you know how to pronounce.

B: Have a stab at saying it anyway.

C: Point out what you want and ask the staff how to pronounce it correctly for future reference.

D: Just describe/point out what you want to order from the menu.

E: Clearly the fact you can pronounce the food means your in the wrong Resturant and leave for somewhere else.

I usually end up just saying "can I have the chicken".

Combination of B and C.

Especilly when ordering tapas. Or I may just use the English for the dish

It feels silly saying gambas pil pil in my accent when I could just say garlic prawns please pal.

Im a B and C combination. My reading is not the best anyway. But I'm always happy to sacrifice some of my pride in exchange for knowlage and culture.

Plus when I'm back people will think I'm a pro (well if it weren't for the fact I'd probably forgotten by then).

I find some words difficult to pronounce but I always try but mostly point and have mumble the end of the word
