It's a well known rule that deleting a message is acceptable on fab to say no thanks.

"It's a well known rule that deleting a message is acceptable on fab to say no thanks."

Still rude though.

Although I do struggle with words sometimes.

But I prefer the direct rejection, we had one this weeks clearly stating sorry there is no attraction from us! I still don’t know what they looked like! But at least no time was wasted waiting for a reply etc

Block. Delete and move on xxx

It doesn't take much to say sorry no, we do.

Same here! Unless it’s a single guy and we’ve already received the same copy and paste message 3 times then we just block and delete! (But only on 3rd message, on the second I copy and paste my previous reply!)

Dont take it so personally. Its not a direct dig at you, its protection for most who say a polite no thanks and get an abusive message back. Sometimes even worse than just abuse as some people just cant take rejection

Its a safer option for many as you cant tell who can and cant take rejection ok

Its not about you

I think it's absolutely fine, deleting my message gives me clear indication just like sorry no, I find it worst when there is no replay and message haven't been deleted, don't know if they interested but don't have a time to replay or just don't give flaying fu.k keeping someone in suspense

Some people just get a sick kick out of it sadly. It is annoying after you put a lot of time & effort in but you just got to move on.

The right place

I think deleting a first message is a clear and acceptable way of saying no thanks. But in this case the OP said that they had been messaging a lot and it’s only when pictures are exchanged that it stopped. I think that that shows poor manners. It doesn’t take much to say you’ve changed your mind. It’s not pleasant but it’s better than ghosting.

Too right it doesn’t.

I always respond and block to save future contact.

Chin up OP.

This

The amount of times I've sent a very polite "sorry, but you're not my cup of tea" message for it to be met with a barrage of abuse is unreal! Some people simply cannot take the rejection and get nasty so it's safer to just delete and block. It's not particularly polite, but it saves the possibility of being called an ugly fat whore for the 100th time that day.

Try not to take it personally OP, you're just not for them

Central

It's standard Fab process to assume that at any point things may not progress any further and you may get no closure message. We all adjust to the norms of behaviour in the environments that we are within - this is socialisation. If we can't do this, due to extreme discomfort and or this being wrong for us, it leads to some necessary self-reflection and choices.

We make our own world but cannot force others to have the same landscapes.

Give the faqs a read through. It states a delete means no thankyou.

I used to say thanks but no and the abuse I get back is unbelievable. Yesterday's included. Newish guy messaged so I thought I'd be polite with him being new.. why oh why did I bother?

It's not worth the hassle you get.

No doesn’t frustrate us because we read the site FAQ’s and know that no reply is the equivalent to a no thank you / not for me

I got told I wasn’t someone’s type once without even citing interest in him

He’s an egotistical prick however ....

I digress

I don’t get much interest as I don’t have my bits out but on the rare occasion I do and I’m not interested - I block

Are you sure they were actually real? Could have been a picture collector.

In the middle

"Are you sure they were actually real? Could have been a picture collector. "

This is what I was just going to add myself, sometimes they just like the chase and the pics and have no intention of meeting at all, or just a single guy pretending and once you sent pics he broke off communication.
