I’m looking to try out a club and was wondering if anyone could recommend a night good for a single guy to try?

Will most likely be attending on my own, looking for somewhere friendly and welcoming.. experiences of clubs and pros and cons welcomed.

Would like to visit somewhere close or in London so the journey home isn’t too treacherous

I think 90% of clubs will be welcoming. Find out which ones are near you and maybe contact them, explain you’re a newbie and they’ll probably keep an eye out for you and make sure you’re alright

Read reviews here. Look to see what other men say... but also look at bad reviews by women and couples. I can think of a club (not London, can't speak to London) where the reputation is that it's amazing for single guys, not uptight/ stuffy like some other clubs. But I gather they don't get too many women, particularly younger women, because uptight/ stuffy means things like "asks permission before groping me", things like that. So there are always two sides (and guys who respect the humanity of women can have a great time at these uptight clubs!).

I hate to say but most clubs aren't hugely welcoming to single guys. You might be better looking at specific nights where singles are part of the night in question, such as hotwife nights or events like that. Look at clubs where they limit the number of single guys too, that way you know you'll be welcomed more.

Beyond that, an awful lots is based around your demeanour and how you conduct yourself there.

My post may be very dour but I will say that clubs can be great fun and fantastic nights.

Yes, I suppose my view is skewed because I go to events with a more heavy singles focus, that being what I am. (although single guys make up the vast majority of my club experiences)
