What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?

Still moving out of my mum's when I was 18, when I didn't know if I would have a roof over my head that night but even being on the streets would have been preferable to being in that situation any longer. Discussing why I moved out of my mum's. Getting help for the issues that lead me to making that move.

I've only recently learnt that I was really strong and brave in doing all that.

I don’t think I have done anything that required much courage. When I’ve needed to have courage it has usually been preceded by a significant period of cowardliness

Finally finding the courage to ask my husband to leave after putting up with his abuse for too many years. Suddenly being a single parent with my 50th birthday looming x

Leaving home at the age of 19 to go abroad on my own. Starting with 35-hour coach journey. People tell me it was courageous. I say it's adventurous.

Moving out of my mum’s house aged 18 to be independent.

Acknowledging that my mental health was piss poor and that therapy wasn’t enough to help me get on track.

Coming off the medication cold turkey. (Also stupid, reckless and definitely not recommended, PLEASE do not do this)

Leaving my husband with a 2 year old in tow and no where to go as I thought if we stayed I wouldn't live much longer. Was hard as hell but was the best choice ever

That's a hard one. The scariest thing I ever did was give a 10 minute talk to 100 psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health workers on my journey to recovery with the help of DBT. As an autistic person with social anxiety that was challenging.

But then there's the scary stuff I did for survival, calling social services on my step-dad, leaving home and sofa surfing for 4 months while I was still at school. There are different forms of courage.

Albeit, I'm not quite brave enough to take on the Luton branch...

I'm not sure I've done anything courageous really,it's just a case of dealing with events or circumstances that get in our way or certain difficult decisions we make.

Cheshire

Outside Funny Girls in Blackpool, I was dressed waiting for some other Tgirls to arrive. Suddenly these guys were in front of me taking the piss out of me and another Tgirl.

This one guy, got up really close to me, I can't remember what he said, but as he got closer I quietly said 'i'll break your nose if you try and then what's your mates going to think, when you're on your arse'

He sarcastically smiled at me, but backed off. They walked away shouting some stuff, however my bravest act that day was not to let it bother me and had a great night.
