Well, finally a success story in my kettle based culinary adventures.

I used my trusty kettle to cook asparagus this week and it came out perfectly.Popped the asparagus in, boiled the kettle, let it stand fir a minute the drained and voila!

Perfect

Central

Do you do boil in the (hopefully reusable) bag? Otherwise, the water used to clean a kettle after cooking in it must be fairly high, surely?

I like to repurpose things, before or after their expiry for their original purpose.

I'm not sure that a kettle is the most wise use of energy for cooking though - maybe you know more? The cost vs gas cooking etc?

At this time of year, it's possible to let natural sunlight heat your water for free - I'm not talking home panels that do it. Once heated, any additional purchased energy to get it to boiling point, if needed, would be less than if starting from cold water.

I have a sneaky feeling that will be where it ends.

Are you on a mission to find a multi-use function for everything?

Is it an art project?

Bleurgh boiled asparagus? Nah, you want to fry it in garlic butter with a bit of sea salt sprinkled in the pan. A-may-zing!
