EasyJet defends 'Champions League' price Rises

EasyJet chief executive has defended his Airlines high ticket price rises to go to Madrid for the Champions League final on the 1st of June.Prices have risen from average £250 to around £1,000..Is this fair?

Competitive market innit, and they've just lost a shit load of money..... Should they offer free seats? I'd rather they kept prices low for families wanting a holiday in the school holidays personally, but again it's a competitive market....

This business model allows me to fly to Amsterdam return for £60. As long as I'm not picky about the dates. I have never offered them more because this is too cheap. So it's Fine by me.

I always try to fly on odd days.. just because I can get a flight much cheaper if I don't want a popular day. But popular day does depend on where

Varying prices for my next trip range from less than 40quid return to £470 return in the same month lol

It's market forces; lost count of people telling me of £30 (ish) return flights to sunny European resorts when no one else wants to go there. Swings and roundabouts, there high prices will cover the airlines costs when they Have to do flights at a loss.

Planes, trains, ferries and automobiles.

You can get an Express train from Alicante to Madrid.

If i was going to transport a plane load of bin dippers id charge more than that!! The only type of football obsessed, possibly d*unk scouser I'd want to carry would be wealthy enough to pay for any damage caused to the aircraft!

As IAG own British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, all with multiple daily flights from the UK to Madrid, I'm sure they've cashed in too

Not to mention O'Learys lot - they rarely miss an opportunity to bump prices up

Uber do exactly the same thing. It's a common business model that many supply and demand businesses adopt.

While they are clearly profiteering; whatever there justification is for the price hike, the public still have the choice to not use there service.
